How do I sign out a book? |
Bring the book to the circulation desk. A MRC staff member will enter your name, student ID#, and book barcode # into the MRC database. You will be given a "date due" slip that tells you when to return the book. |
| How long can I keep a book? | Most books can be borrowed for three weeks, with the exception of reference books, which must be returned the next day before period one. |
| Can I borrow magazines? | Current issues can be read in the MRC. Back issues can be borrowed for one week. |
| Can I borrow DVD's or videos? | DVD's and videos may be borrowed overnight. |
FINES: Frequently asked questions |
| What happens if I forget to return a book? | Your period one teacher will give you an "overdue notice" from the MRC. You will be billed a fine of five cents a day until the book is returned. The fine for reference books is twenty-five cents a day; for magazines, ten cents a day, and for DVD's or videos, twenty-five cents a day. |
| What happens if I lose a book? | Come to the MRC and tell either Mrs. Hyland or Mrs. Henderson that the book is lost. They will stop the fines and tell you how much it will cost to replace the book. Keep looking for the book. After a month, if the book is still not found, you will be expected to pay the replacement cost of the book. Your money will be refunded if you find the book at a later date and bring your receipt to the MRC. |
